Doomed Planet

Master of Alchemy First track Doomed Planet is a pretty straightforward affair, missing the intricacies of 777 and Obelisk. The tones throughout Hoof and Bone create more of an atmosphere, and welcome back the superb lead guitar work. Sorrow is a short composition, featuring acoustic and buzzsaw guitars along with a warm bass rumble - I wish it had been expanded into a full song, it could have been something really quite different and special from Goya. The EP finishes with a MM cover version. Favorite track: Hoof and Bone.

Colin M. Goya are back, darker and doomier than every. Between this and the masterful "Enemy" EP, Goya are killing it in 2016. Favorite track: Doomed Planet.

This planet's nothing but a mockery Mutants and reptiles dance upon the television screen The leaders of the world long ago led us astray Their lust for power, ever more Leaving us the price to pay We're damned, we're doomed We're damned, we're doomed It's been the same from the dawn of time Don't beg for mercy, mankind isn't kind The oceans swirl with debris underneath a poison sky We'll never find a resolution But we all know the reason why We're damned, we're doomed We're damned, we're doomed The future marching out of factories We've reached the end of all humanity Extinction's finally begun We've sown it's seed across the land Satan looks upon it laughing The planet crumbles in his hands We're damned, we're doomed We're damned, we're doomed

I know you've wished it all away That's why you've come to me today I cannot take away your pain But I can lead you to the path that you must take As dreams are crushed by hoof and bone So, too, you face the night alone Son, I can't take away your pain But I can lead you to the beast you wish to slay Welcome to the end of your life The time has come to say goodbye Like coal within a diamond Or black inside a heart This path will only bring you pain The solace that you seek was rotten from the start All that you've known is dead gone So shall you be, as well, before long As dreams will only bring you pain I can't alleviate the crushing weight of fate Welcome to the end of your life The time has come to say goodbye You'll face your death like all the rest Welcome to the end of your life The time has come to say goodbye Welcome to the end of your life The time has come to say goodbye Say goodbye...

about

"From the first moments on, it’s apparent Goya is meaner, nastier, and doomier than ever before. ‘Doomed Planet’ shows just how tight the recently gelled team of Jeff Owens, Nick Lose, and Sonny DeCarlo has become."

"'Doomed Planet' is an EP executed with absolute ferocity...Goya are definitely not messing around and in times of a 'Doomed Planet', the title is very apt."
thesludgelord.blogspot.com/2016/11/review-goya-doomed-planet-ep.html

"Doomed Planet and Hoof And Bone do no look at humankind and society with hate, but with resignation. It is very depressing but still very enjoyable as the songwriting is top-notch."

"Solid writing and solid musicianship backed up by Jeff Owen’s (sic) despairing wails show how comfortable Goya are with producing high-calibre doom."
